I Have Something To Ask You

Year: 2024

Death is social, and often sees us asking a lot of one another. I Have Something To Ask You provides an opportunity to reflect on your own final wishes for when you die, and to ensure that those requests are safe.

Gallery visitors were invited to write their final wish on paper, slip it into a tiny box, and either take it with them to share with someone they love, or leave it in care of the artist. At the end of the exhibition I collected the boxes full of wishes, leaving them unopened. Once a year, for the rest of my life, I will check if any of the participants have died. If they have, they will open the box and try to fulfill their last wish.
