For the third assignment in the Creative Commons Certificate we were tasked with communicating the anatomy of CC licenses, so I’ve continued the comic series. I enjoyed the way that this assignment got me thinking about the ways to describe how the 4 elements of a CC license (BY, NC, ND, and SA) fit together into the 6 CC licenses.
In the past at work I’ve tried to describe the 4 elements independently and then how they can be put together like building blocks, but for this assignment I tried a different approach, where I described the licenses more relationally. I tried to explain when licenses were similar (i.e . CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC BY-NC, and CC BY-NC-SA all allow distributing, remixing, adapting, and building upon) and then what the “additional” restrictions are for SA, and NC.
I hope you enjoy!
